It illustrates themes and mega-themes in fiction and can be a great source when trying to make sure you don't "overdo" characterization and plot. http://tvtropes.org The site Design Through Storytelling created a Periodic Table of Storytelling that uses the TV Tropes concept as well.

My friend Melissa Snark got the idea to not only use it to illustrate how one of her books is laid out, she also invited other authors to her site to share how theirs are illustrated. By combining the "storytelling element" chart with our stories, we put together quite a package of story molecule posts.

The Reptoid Mystery ... the Kougaress has listened to John Rhodes over the years, absolutely intrigued by his ongoing investigation of what he calls reptoids or reptilians who have a humanoid form. And believe you me, there's quite a bit of evidence around -- including Native American legends/stories -- evidence that has, of course, been ignored and suppressed by the news-powers-that-be. 'Cause the BIG THEY don't want you to know. Also, John Rhodes talked about the great white shark that was devoured by something else, and the details are fascinating.

In the first half, cryptozoologist John Rhodes talked about the mystery of what ate a great white shark, and shared updates on the Reptoids and other strange creatures. In the case of the devoured 9 ft. shark, the discovery came about because it was wearing a research/tracking tag, which turned up on an Australian beach. Data from the tag indicated "it must have been a larger animal that grabbed hold of the shark and pulled him down," which suggests that some huge unknown sea predator could be out there, Rhodes remarked. Purported sea monsters, such as Nessie, have in common the depth of their habitat, which makes them less susceptible to cosmic radiation, so their evolutionary changes would probably be much slower, he added.

Regarding the history of Reptoid beings on Earth, he believes that as recently as around 52,000 years ago, reptilian humanoids ruled the planet, though they lived underground. They saw the Earth as their planet, and evolved from the dinosaurs, he said. Then, a disaster happened on Mars, "and the military elite on Mars took refuge on the surface of the Earth and they appeared as the white tall giants," and tinkered with local hominids to make a slave race. But the reptilians didn't approve of this and offered the new humans the seed of knowledge (possibly through a hallucinogenic plant), as alluded to in the story of Adam and Eve, Rhodes postulated.

In the latter half, a pioneer in the annals of metaphysical and paranormal exploration, Dr. Richard Alan Miller discussed such topics as geo-engineering (chemtrails), engineered water, future warfare, alternative agriculture, and ESP induction. Multinational corporations have sought to control the population through such things as GMOs, and "now what they're doing is weaponizing epigenetics...they're attacking us in our foods, now it'll be the air we breathe, and of course privatization of water," he warned. Regarding the composition of chemtrail sprays, he said they contain a small bacteria that acts like a nano-body and generates a polymer structure, which rips moisture out of the air. Intriguingly, he suggested that Morgellon's disease comes from a kind of nematode that was developed in space experiments.

Miller described his work as a physicist for the Navy Seals developing a protocol to enhance their abilities, accessing ESP-like abilities. He also detailed his study of structured water-- different chemical variations of water which can have various benefits and properties. Most illnesses, he stated, are the result of dehydration, and EZ water which has a negative charge, is more alkaline than regular water.

Late night mews, fascinating and adorably fickle Big Cats... a rainstorm during the night on the tame prairie... but the sun came out about mid afternoon and the coolish air turned much drier, instead of all the humidity lately... down at her mailbox the Kougaress saw a beautiful butterfly feeding on a newly opened thistle... with the recent rains all sorts of plants are rising up fast... of course, thistles are considered to be weeds by those who don't know their medicinal benefits to humanity, and the fact that butterflies, needed pollinators, love them... and gosh, that thistle bloom sure did smell good.

Miraculously, when he returned to his doctor six months later, there were no signs of TB, as though he had cured himself by some electromagnetic means, Bullard recounted. Some of the stones Leedskalnin carved at Coral Castle weighed as much six tons, yet he was said to move them there by himself, and witnesses claim to have seen him levitating the stones like balloons.

In his latest research, Bullard has concluded that Leedskanin could have had otherworldly/ET genetic origins or connections (based on his odd physical appearance, and an alien face he carved into an altar stone at Coral Castle), which may given him the ability to uncover the lost science of the Egyptian pyramids and Stonehenge. If your character has a beer... hey, jump on the bandwagon against bad-for-you beer... and let your characters drink something that's actually a good thing, not just a symbol of a certain lifestyle... this will give your character more depth and individuality... and you'll being doing a good thing for humanity in general

Beware: claw and fang commentary ahead... The Big Beer Bamboozle ... via the Food Babe ~foodbabe.com~... this Big Cat had no clue how disastrously awful commercial, big-brewery beer is... she knew it wasn't healthy given the fact that it's not brewed naturally and the ingredients like fructose corn syrup [mercury filled and made with GMO corn] are crap. That is,  as opposed to good and organic microbreweries... but, the chemical overload is absolutely astounding, and technically not even beer... yep, it's so disgusting nothing and no one on this Earth should drink it or even come close to it... okay, with the exception of the Viper anti-human elite... dousing them in this utter diabolical crap, then forcing them to drink it... maybe that would constitute some manner of poetic justice... be that as it may, the traditional ingredients that have been used to make beer, ales, meads, and liquor, and not to leave out wine, the Kougaress's fave... is excellent for body and soul. In fact, such brews were used for medicinal purposes, and for nutrition in our past. And, yes, these fermented herbal concoctions worked. So, time to just say NO to the big nasty breweries, and say YES to the good-for-you organic brews. Vote with your dollars. Vote with your heart and soul. And, for gosh sakes, don't drink that beer-pretender crap.

hailstorm... then the real fun began...

Late night mews, most lovely Felines... wow! ... what an odd-duck weather day on the tame prairie... the skies were leaden with rainclouds during the morning... then about mid-afternoon, the storm moved in with high winds, and a crack of ominous thunder... anyway, rains splattered, then crashed to ground, all while the wind blasted and this strange loud roar that sounded like it was machine-made continued above... at first there was tiny hail included with the rain... then a pea-sized hailstorm for several minutes... that stopped, but then the real fun began... a raging hailstorm hit with pea-sized to large marble-sized hail stones, the hailstorm lasted long enough to end up covering the ground... this Big Cat was worried for a time that her windows would break... then, strangely, suddenly, there was blue sky and the sun shone brightly... and the temps jumped up to near balmy... even so, it took a long time for those little ice suckers to melt.

 In the first half of the program, authors and Bigfoot researchers Rob Riggs and Tom Burnette discussed why they believe the mysterious apelike creature is real. The two men began their joint study after discovering they shared a similar theory relating unusual luminosities in the woods to Bigfoot sightings. "Other researchers seem to leave this phenomena out or just discard it completely," Burnette said. According to Riggs, these creatures are real animals (see photos: bigfootthebigpicture.net/Non-Fiction-Books-Urban-Myths-Sour-Lake-TX.html) but with extraordinary abilities, such as telepathy, not seen in other animals. This allows them to keep hidden from humans and stalk prey, he added. Burnette concurred, noting how Bigfoot seem to have a mastery over physics and can accurately reproduce any sound they hear.

"We feel like we have substantial evidence that there is some kind of undiscovered wild primate in the Southern United States," Riggs continued. Burnette shared a firsthand encounter he had with the beast in 1986. He remembered hearing something run through the woods, getting pelted by rocks and dirt, and finally seeing a creature stare at him from behind a tree. Its head appeared to be a foot and a half wide with two black eyes set about six inches apart, he recalled, describing it as "something similar to that of a Neanderthal man but more apelike." Riggs thinks the animal is a cross between a gorilla and Howler monkey, similar to the Myakka Ape in Florida. Burnette suggested these creatures are highly intelligent, pointing out that they have left gifts of food and wood at his house. He also recounted the story of a female friend who was dragged into the woods by a Bigfoot and escaped by breaking a bottle over the creature's head.

A hairy creature conjuring the Sasquatch of North American folklore is stomping around Vancouver Island, according to a young First Nations man who claims he had a startling encounter with the beast.

Fisheries officer Luke Swan Jr. told CTV News he was out in his boat patrolling Ahousaht territory near Tofino last Wednesday when he saw a mysterious figure crouching on the coast.

“Something really big stood up, probably between eight or nine feet,” he said. “The first thing I had in my mind was to get off the beach. I pushed off as fast as I could and got to deep water.”
