Wintry Christmas Scenes In Wolf Peak Territory

Originally posted at SHAPESHIFTER SEDUCTION

Christmas Wintry Howls and Yowls, ShapeShifter Lovers.

Above is the Christmas Card my wonderful sister sent. I love it.!
I hope your holiday season is merry and beautiful.
Most of us need hope and goodness at this point in time, the end of 2018.
That's one reason I am currently writing a Christmas ShapeShifter Romance short story, as I've talked about in the past two posts.
Celebrating Christmas, the holiday season, is a very festive and loving time in the small town of Moonrise Lake. Everyone is included, shifters of every type and stripe, supernaturals of all kinds, and yes, humans with their own special powers. Humans know how to LOVE. And that is prized by All  in the Peak.
As my heroine, Karyssa, learns early on Wolf Peak Territory is a survival community. 'Course, she has no clue yet that she's surrounded by shapeshifters who created their own self-sufficient world simply to protect themselves from numerous, highly dangerous enemies--to survive and thrive...and yes, to enjoy life as they raise their families.

HERE'S A LITTLE UNEDITED SNIPPET, the hero's POV...

"Not worried, Karyssa. I'm a wealthy man." He'd pointedly told her, not to impress, but to witness her reaction.

"Oh, I see." She avoided his gaze. "I still want to pay...pay my own way."

"Of course," he answered in an offhand manner. "I respect anyone who works for a livin', pays their own way."

Standing, he offered his hand. Her blue-blood breeding took over before she could deny it. Karyssa accepted his assistance like the lady she'd been trained to be all of her life.

Realizing it, she flushed. Yet didn't deny him by jerking her hand away. "From what I've seen so far, it seems like most people here are wealthy enough."

"We don't allow poverty here in town, or in the whole of Wolf Peak Territory. There's always a skill we encourage, or a job for anyone in need.

"Truth is, Karyssa," he continued, walking her out of the room, "there is a massive subterranean structure that's been built for years now. Inside is every type of business, shop, restaurant. I bet you'd like the Midnight Stardust supperclub. Dancin', fine eats, swing band music, singers."

"Are you saying this is an enormous survival community?" She paused her steps, gazing up at him.

A Merry Howling Yowling Christmas, ShapeShifter Lovers.

I've been working on a short story set in Wolf Peak Territory, in the small town of Moonrise Lake, during the holiday season. KNOCK ON WOOD, I'll be able to continue and complete this Christmas ShapeShifter Erotic Romance. I think I'm on Chapter Six...

Anyway, here's the opening lines, so far ... given everything is subject to change... the heroine, who is escaping an arranged marriage situation back East, has found herself in Moonrise Lake, rescued by a bright light showing her the way out of a thick frosty fog... yep, kinda like Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer ... ~smiles~

"It's like a Christmas fairytale," Karyssa whispered to herself. Stunned, enchanted beyond belief by the small town's festive transformation, she paused to drink in the holiday fantasy scene.

Would You Sit On Santa Wolf Claws Lap?

Originally posted at SHAPESHIFTER SEDUCTION

Howliday Greetings, Shapeshifter lovers,

So, a short post today. Ever been followed by about thirty head of young Angus cattle? My neighbor rents out our pastures and he let a whole bunch of his cow critters graze in the west side pasture. Anyway, as I trekked down to the rural mailbox, the cows must have decided I had something good for them to eat because suddenly they all gathered at the fence. Looking very expectant, this large group followed me partway. Truth to divulge, it was kinda scary because there were so many of them. 'Course, I told them I had nothing good to give them. Then, if that wasn't unsettling enough, on the way back up the half-mile drive, a bull in the neighbor's pasture was throwing a fit, sort of. He sounded as though he was growling. And he'd make these high-pitched bellows. He didn't look all that friendly, I can tell you. What did I do? I growled loudly at him like I've learned to do...works on some dogs. And hey, if there's a possible intruder I could easily be mistaken for a vicious dog. In fact, I've stopped coyotes from howling by making loud dog sounds. Strange, huh? Yeah, life on my tame prairie.

Anyhoo, I began Christmas-themed short story set in Moonrise Lake, the small town in Wolf Peak Territory. *KNOCK ON WOOD* I'm successful in writing it. Okay, the heroine, new to town, is offered a job at the Magical Forest Bakery. Lady Clarice is the owner and she is having various Santas -- for the children -- take turns as animal Santa Claws -- the first one being a wolf, or a real wolf shifter. However, our heroine doesn't know that... she simply believes it's a very clever Hollywood costume.

But say you were passing through Moonrise Lake, and you followed the delicious smells to the bakery. There, inside the gingerbread-looking shop is -- LO AND BEHOLD -- a Wolf Santa Claws giving out treats to the children. They're sitting on his lap having a fun giddy time... what would you do? Join in the merriment or...?
